Accommodation

Recommendations

The easiest option is probably to get an Airbnb, we’d recommend finding a place in any of the suburbs listed below - Brunswick or Coburg will be easiest in terms of getting to the venue!

Melbourne isn’t the most populous city but it is quite spread out, so it’s worth making sure that your accommodation is roughly in the right part of town - if in doubt Google Maps will be your friend.

Which suburbs should I stay in?

Coburg

F&K’s hood, we currently live here and love it! We love going for a walk down the Merri Creek and up to Coburg Lake and then grabbing a pint at the Coburg RSL (ya classic Aussie spot).

Brunswick (inc. East & West)

F&K’s old hood, we used to live here and loved it! Our favourite spots include CERES (nature centre thing), Daddy Bar (our favourite bar) and if you’re looking for a good brunch place, A Minor Place is nice.

CBD

Staying in the CBD (Central Business District) might be a good spot for exploring from as it’s accessible to all the touristic things. If you’re near the Upfield train line, or the 19 tram, they’ll take you straight from the CBD to the venues (more or less).

More Suburbs

Carlton

Italian-esque suburb, a quiet pocket close to the CBD and the Melbourne Museum, it’s quite a lovely suburb.

Fitzroy/Collingwood

This is the trendy part of Melbourne, walking distance from the CBD with lots of bars and good restaurants on your doorstep! It’s probably an Uber rather than a tram or train away from the venues, but boy is it cool.

Accommodation continued...

If you’re looking for a cheap backpacker’s hostel, we’ve heard good things about this place and it’s a literal 1 minute walk to the wedding reception. It could be an option for those looking for a good location and good value - but it’s worth noting that it’s a hostel located above a pub!

1min (walk) from Inner North Brewery

Located in Coburg, this newly built hotel used to be a prison so if that interests you, this may be an option.

20mins drive from Inner North Brewery, or you can jump on a tram that’ll take you straight down to both venues
